About 1992 I began researching my maternal grandmother's family. In a short time I branched out to other ancestral families. I was hooked. I work as an academic librarian much of the year so I mainly perform research services during school breaks and summer months. During the academic year, I accept short projects corresponding to my availability on some evenings, weekends, and an occasional morning off.
I speak for genealogical organizations, libraries, and to librarians on a wide range of genealogical topics. I speak for local groups as well as for state, regional, and national conferences.
I authored Research in Mississippi in National Genealogical Society's Research in the States series.
